Whilst the statistics can seem overwhelming, it is important to remember that every number represents the life of a victim. The A21 Campaign has recognized a significant need in the region of Eastern Europe, and is committed to combat this injustice through rescuing one life at a time.
Today an estimated 27 million people are held in slavery. Statistics state that every 2 minutes, a child is sexually exploited. Some of these children are as young as four. In some cases, trafficked victims are forced to sexually service as many as 40 men a day.
It is easy to be overwhelmed by the issue of human trafficking and think that we cannot make a difference. But the crime of human trafficking cannot be ignored!
